Muhlenberg Township
Muhlenberg Township is a community in Berks County that features a population of almost 20,000 in a 12.2 square mile area (according to the 2010 US Census). The majority of the population reside in the western and central areas of the township while the east is located in the South Mountains of Reading.
Muhlenberg Township has plenty of shopping areas. Some of the popular ones include:
- The Target and Giant shopping centers (including Ross, Pet Smart, and Five Below)
- The Walmart Super Center
- The Muhlenberg Shopping Plaza (featuring Ollie’s and Regal Buffet)
All of which are along 5th Street Highway, but there are many more throughout the township including many stand-alone stores.
There are many places to eat in Muhlenberg Township, and even a movie theater to catch the newest films which features heated chairs (very cozy).
Muhlenberg Township also features many parks which can be rented for personal parties and get-togethers. One of the most popular parks is the Jim Dietrich Park which has plenty of different pavilions, playground equipment, and even two dog parks (one for small and medium dogs and one for larger dogs).
The township is very community oriented through various events such as the Haunted Hollow during Halloween, to the Holiday House Decorating contest for all residents in December, to RiverFest Music and Food Festival in August to name just a few.
